Keeping philanthropy in the heart of strategy, Naumi Hotels takes great pride in giving back to the communities in which we work and live. Amongst the best luxury hotel brands, we serve to improve the quality of life for others through monetary and gift-in-kind donations, as well as volunteering at various events.

In continuing the legacies of the family’s patriarch, Mr Shyam Sundar Jhunjhnuwala, The Hind Group founded the Shyam Sundar Jhunjhnuwala Charity Fund in Singapore in October 2015, and pledged $200,000 to the fund that is registered and being managed by Community Foundation of Singapore. The fund will focus on education, welfare initiatives as well as health-related issues for underprivileged women and children in Singapore.

One of these initiatives include a collaboration with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), to establish the S.S. Jhunjhnuwala – Naumi Hotel Bursary in 2016 to support financially disadvantaged and deserving female undergraduates pursuing a full-time degree programme in the Bachelor of Hospitality Business at SIT.

At Naumi Hotels, we recognise the impact of our operations on the environment, and we are committed to implementing proactive measures to help protect the natural bounty and sustain it for future generations.

Going green starts with our employees. A dedication to retrain a life-time of habits is making great strides to separate waste at the hand-to-trash level. Naumi strives to decrease landfills while diverting recyclable and compostable materials to help meet the Zero Waste Singapore by 2040 goal.

Green trellises have been installed along the façade of Naumi Hotel Singapore to help keep the building cool. As less energy is needed to power the air-conditioners, we considerably reduce the amount of chlorofluorocarbon emission, which in turn, protects the ozone layer. This has earned us the SIA NPARKS Skyrise Greenery Awards in 2008 which is jointly presented by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and the National Parks Board (NParks), and the BCA Green Mark Gold Award by the Building & Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore.

More recently, in our journey to remove single-use plastic bottled water in our hotels, guests staying at Naumi Hotel Singapore and Naumi Auckland Airport are given a reusable water bottle which doubles up as a take-home souvenir. In addition, Naumi Hotel Auckland Airport has adopted the use of paper straws across its restaurants and bars; a move that aims to reduce worldwide plastic pollution.

Our drive to minimise our environmental footprint also forms the foundation of our “Go Green Initiative,” a proactive program of eco-friendly practices that reduces waste water and chemical toxicity resulting from daily hotel processes. Guests are also encouraged to join us in this initiative by reusing the towels and linens in their guest rooms.
